Today is the single biggest giving day after December 31st. Interesting that they both fall in December this year.
Giving Tuesday started as a grass roots initiative to follow Black Friday and Cyber Monday for post US Thanksgiving spending sprees. This day is touted as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
Last year in Canada, over $50 million dollars were raised for Canadian Charities.
There are other ways to give if your heart is willing… the gift of your time is also a valued commodity by charitable organizations.
