Today’s Greatitude

Did you know that Canada played a central role in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

The Declaration states that each person is entitled to fundamental rights, including the right to equality, and the right to life, liberty and security of the person. It also recognizes the right to freedom of religion and speech and the right to participate in the cultural life of the community. Today is that day!

For more information about the important global day, please visit the United Nations website at www.un.org and seek human rights day.

This declaration turns 76 today and has helped shaped foreign and domestic policy around the world as it relates to the rights and freedoms we take for granted today.
