Summer Olympics Start in Paris
Today is the day that dreams come true for the countless hours of dedication and honest hard work and grit for many athletes. The 33rd Summer Olympics starts today in France which is 100 years to the day since they hosted their last Summer games.
Paris and London are the only two cities who have hosted the games three times with Paris in 1900, 1924 and 2024 and London in 1908, 1948 and 2012.
The summer games in 1924 hosted 44 nations with 3089 athletes and in 2024 that number is at capacity at 10,500 participants! The programme of the 2024 Summer Olympics will feature 329 events in 32 sports and Canada will have 282 athletes competing!
