Today’s Greatitude
October 28 is the 301st day of the year (302nd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar; 64 days remain until the end of the year.
So while we are all in the throes of Halloween preparations, just know that around the corner are Remembrance Day and Christmas!
Opal is the traditional birthstone for October. It is believed the stone was originally found in India, where it was given the name “upala,” or “precious stone” in Sanskrit, according to the Geological Institute of America. This gemstone is well-known for its “play-of-color,” or ability to shift hues. Rough opals appear white, but when polished, they show a rainbow kaleidoscope on their surface.
May your day have a kaleidoscope of all good things as we celebrate the good in the random parts of our day!
